Nets landed in AAU
The Syracuse Nets (MJ) landed in the AAU DII Super 25 national rankings at No. 14 early in the week, “We’ve talked with our guys about (the ranking), and we’ve told them it’s a heck of an honor for them,” coach MJ said, “but I think the way we maintain the focus of it all is just when we start practice we’re trying to get ready for our next event. Our guys have been really good. It’s a junior group who has been through some really good times and been through some struggles. So I think they understand that rankings don’t mean very much, at least right now they don’t.”
It is unclear how much time Phil Allen will miss, but clear that he will be missed on the court. The 6-foot-3 junior is averaged 21.9 points and 6 assists and has made 81.9 percent of his free throw attempts and 37.8 percent of his 3-point tries during last season.
